ChatterBudz (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is operated by Territory Cybernetics Pty Ltd in Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile apps and website (collectively, the “Services”).

Information we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, profile photo, and user ID when you create or sign into an account.
• App usage & device data: app version, device model, OS, language, crash logs, and performance metrics (for diagnostics and quality).
• Content you share: messages, images, and attachments you choose to send. End-to-end encrypted direct messages are not read by us.
• Optional data: contacts (only if you explicitly allow it, e.g., to find friends). This is processed to match accounts and is not stored as your address book.

How we use your information

• Provide and maintain core features (accounts, chats, groups, media).
• Security, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and account safety.
• Diagnostics, crash analysis, and product improvement.
• Legal compliance and to enforce our Terms of Use.

Sharing & transfers

We do not sell personal data. We use trusted processors for infrastructure, analytics, diagnostics, storage, and notifications (e.g., Firebase/Google Cloud, Apple/Google push services). These processors only act on our instructions and under appropriate data protection terms. Data may be processed outside Australia; when it is, we apply safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data retention

We keep data for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with law, resolve disputes, and maintain security. You may delete your account in the app to remove personal information (subject to legal retention).

Children

ChatterBudz is not directed to children under 13. If we learn a child’s data was collected in error, we will delete it.
